Instalment and start-up

1. The procedure for making a hole for AT 6 – AT 12 wastewater treatment plants:

  • Dig an excavation;
  • Make a reinforced-concrete base slab 150 mm thick, flatness +/- 5 mm;
  • Select furrows that will be directed to the middle of the excavation for inlet and outlet piping;
  • Lay the pipelines;
  • Lead the pipelines to the excavation in a sufficient length;
  • Prepare the inlet piping in order to make it possible to be directly connected to the incoming socket of the wastewater treatment plant;
  • The outlet piping should be terminated with a socket in the excavation to allow its connection to the outlet piping from the wastewater treatment plant;
  • Unless the pipelines are led to the hole in the same axis (e.g. because it was not possible in technical terms), a sufficient number of interconnecting elbow-pipes with the correct angles of elbows should be provided by the day of placing the wastewater treatment plant in the prepared excavation;
  • Decrease the level of the bottom water below the level of the excavation base;
  • Revise the flatness of the reinforced-concrete base slab (permitted tolerance +/- 5 mm in all directions). If the flatness is not within the aforesaid tolerance, make cement screed in order to achieve the required flatness;
  • Make certain there are no objects, stones, clay etc. on the reinforced-concrete base slab;
  • Lay protective PP or PVC of DN 50 piping below the ground level for the air supplied from the blower to the wastewater treatment plant;prierez domu - osadenie ČOV
    (this pipeline serves for passing through the connection hose that secures the blowing of air from the blower to the wastewater treatment plant; it may not be more than 5 metres long);
  • Lead electric power to the location of the blower, lay the electric cable into the protective piping according to the applicable Slovak Technical Norms (STN));
  • The preliminary building work is performed by the contractor.

2. Instalment procedure:

Very simple assembly
Based on our instructions, the wastewater treatment plant may be installed by anybody. However, the company will be happy to install it.

  • Decrease the level of bottom water below the level of the excavation base;
  • Revise the flatness of the reinforced-concrete base slab (permitted tolerance +/- 5 mm in all directions). If the flatness is not within the aforesaid tolerance, do not continue to install the wastewater treatment plant, but make cement screed in order to achieve the required flatness;
  • When installing the air supply, the protective PP or PVC of DN 50 piping must be placed below the ground level. This piping serves for passing through the connection hose that secures the blowing of air from the blower into the wastewater treatment plant for the air supplied from the blower to the wastewater treatment; it may not be more than 5 metres long;
  • Ensure that the interior spaces of the wastewater treatment plant do not contain any foreign objects or rainwater;
  • If there is rainwater, it must be pumped out before handling the plant;
  • Check the overall condition of the wastewater treatment plant tank. If any damage to the tank is discovered, do not continue to install the wastewater treatment plant, but contact the supplier. Repairs should be performed before the plant is placed in the excavation;
  • Ensure that there are no objects, stones, clay etc. on the reinforced-concrete base slab. Do not continue to install the wastewater treatment plant if the reinforced-concrete base slab is not clean.
  • Place the wastewater treatment plant on the reinforced-concrete base slab in the excavation;osadenie čov
  • Make the connection of the sewerage system watertight by inserting a sewage pipe in the socket of the wastewater treatment plant and make the connection of the outlet watertight by setting the socket of the sewage pipe on the outlet pipe from the wastewater treatment plant. If necessary, seal the connection with silicate cement;
  • Evenly fill the wastewater treatment plant tank (all segments) with water up to the level of the outlet piping;
  • Fill the tank with earth or make a concrete encasement in compliance with the building design. When filling with earth, it is necessary to proceed evenly by compacted layers 300 mm high. The earth must be free of stones, building material and other objects, as they could damage the plastic tank of the wastewater treatment plant;
  • The wastewater treatment plant must be filled with water before backfilling or possible concreting.

Alternatively, the wastewater treatment plant can be installed by the supplier or, as the case may be, the servicing organisation. In this case, the operator must perform the building work, unless agreed otherwise.

Installation of the blower shaft

To install the blower, it is most suitable to place the blower shaft (it may be ordered) next to the wastewater treatment plant. The shaft comes with interconnection protective piping that simultaneously serves to drain the shaft in the case of penetration. Place the blower in the shaft and connect the air supply hose to the blower, pass the interconnection through the protective PP-HT DN 50 piping and join it to the air timer.
Upon connection, the wastewater treatment plant can be started up or, as the case may be, the supplier or servicing centre can be invited to start it up.

3. Starting up the wastewater treatment plant– procedure (to be carried out by the manufacturer or a person trained by the manufacturer - customer)osadenie čov
Starting up the wastewater treatment plant is the most important step in operating the wastewater treatment plant; therefore it is recommended that the manufacturer or a person trained by the manufacturer – customer do so.

  • fill the installed wastewater treatment plant with clean tap water up to the level of the outlet;
  • start up the blower;
  • check the control valves (see page 6 of the operating instructions);
  • pour approximately 200 litres of active sludge, which should be taken from the residential wastewater treatment plant or municipal wastewater treatment plant, in the inflow part.
